Blotter App Reviews

121 Customer Reviews:

This app provides a nice overview of your calendar. It is pretty basic though...you cant edit tasks or entries for example.. but seeing the calendar gui is useful. As one other reviewer has suggested, it would be nice to add some flexibility to the 9-7 timings and to the layout in general.

I have been waiting for an app like this for a few years now. Very clean, organized, and SIMPLE! It is so convenient to be able to see my iCal events right on my desktop as well as my reminders in the “to-do” list. Very user friendly. I have downloaded many calendar apps but this is by far the best one I have ever used. It is worth every penny.

This app doesn’t show whole month or months, it only shows one week makes it useless. I want my 10 bucks back. Too bad because the seemless integration to the desktop is great. Mac Should just have this interface as an option for their own calender it would be lovely.

I think they need to improve to have more option like font colors.

It is good and simple to use. I love its design but it can add more functions to it.:) Hope we can choose whether to have a full month calendar or just weekly calendar. And hope we can customize ourself more.

This is a very great app. It’s a bit annoying that Calendar is now separate from Reminders, and this apps just brings the both of them together. Great to have the app hover above the background. It’s not disturbing and helps my productivity. Nice options to configure the layout. All this app misses is a few more configuration options (like a month layout instead of a week layout).

Exactly what you need if you want to put your calendar front and centre. The schedule is elastic i.e. if you have events at 1:00 AM, the UI will resize to start at 1:00 AM, exactly like the previous reviewer requests. Only one thing missing - the ability to check off reminders.

Love it

I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and have no complaints at all. Love it.

So far so Good!

It’s been great so far! A lot of the comments in the bad reviews have been dealt with :) I am happy with my purchase thus far!

It looks nice, very clean and organized. I was expecting to be able to edit it by clicking directly on the events or days like a live wallpaper but I misunderstood the actions available. It updates immediatley when you enter in an event or reminder using your Macs installed Calendar and To Do apps, so it’s actually still very convenient. I also want to add that Blotter Support is very helpful. I sent them a message and received a response with my questions answered very quickly. Thank you! The only suggestions I would make at the moment: - Allow for a full month to show in the top left where today’s date is. So maybe a choice between the two. - Make this live! I think by adding a clickable link on the title bars, (e.g. To Do and the date, etc.) so that it opens that app directly would be really convenient. Then that way we can actually remove those apps from our dock to make more room for other ones.

After reading the reviews I bought the app but this is complete waste of money. If you are looking for something that just displays all your events on the screen all the time cause you are too lazy to run Calender from the dock then this is for you. This is basically a lite version of Calendar. I should be able to click on any date and add event or reminder ( well, reminder doesn’t even work for me ) than go to menu and add event. I am not sure why people here are giving 5 stars for this overprised and useless app. It does less than calendar that is free.

You can import your google calendar, but what it doesn’t tell you is that it isn’t live, and it doesn’t get updated. So if your calendar never changes, Yes, the app would be okay, but you aren’t going to reimport your google calendar every time you change something in your schedule. Ridiculous.

Simple, clean design

Great to have the week on the desktop without having to launch an app. Can add events and to-do items. Matches my desktop design nicely.

Hi, I had a problem with blotter on Yosemite 10.10.3 (no connection with iCal) and the guys from Wireload sent mi a program that reset my privaci settings for the program. Now it works fine.

It actually uses A LOT of memory (200MB of RAM), and that really disappointed me. Otherwise it does what it says. It could use a monthly-display-option and of course support for the new retina macbook pros.

MacBook Pro Retina Display Support Please!!!

Given your positioning, I believe its not acceptable that you display low res images on the Retina MacBook Pro. Add it asap please!

Egomet68 v2.1 · 13 years ago

It does almost everything it promises and greatly so. What I would really appreciate is to have separate layouts for different screen setups (that is still not there – guys, I wont reset it every time i hook my MBA to my external display) and the chance to cycle through the layouts per hotkey (in particular between narrow and normal). Customising the dimming and having a shortcut for hiding the app altogether would make it a killer app. Nonetheless, quite awesome.

App is OK but its time for RETINA

The application does what they say, but it is really time to upgrade to Retina.
